Queen and Adam Lambert

O2 Arena, London - 17th January 2015

After a 7 year wait, having missed the Hammersmith shows, no time was wasted in booking tickets for the European leg of their tour, the new line up with Adam Lambert as the new front man was going to be interesting. I had my reservations about him being slightly over the top, after watching the New Years eve celebration concert with Queen and Lambert I felt slightly reassured.

The tickets I purchased were general standing tickets, and I certainly felt that after 5 hours of standing and queuing but it was rewarded in the end, the first 200 people got the chance to go in the Golden circle which was nice, which was the area from the front of the stage to just behind the B stage out front. We were queuing from 15:00 just to give you an idea of how long we waited to doors opening at 18:30... well 10 minutes later than that.

After selecting our area to stand, we awaited the beginning of the show, with the lead up track being borrowed from Made in Heaven albums final track. The show consisted of some newer tracks, and some earlier Queen tracks which Adams voice certainly suited.

All round the show was great, Adam a true showman really worked the stage well certainly had a strong stage presence... and has a great vocal range, I certainly understood after being at the show Adam's style, certainly showing the entertainer and showing off to the crowd, it works and it was good fun. He looks to of breathed new life in to Queen, Brian and Roger both appeared to be enjoying themselves, Brian especially with his selfie stick... and camera mounted to his Guyton.

Only slight disappointments were that they have taken Now I’m Here and Love Kills out of the set list for the time being, but these are only small personal disappointments.

To those who are attending the other shows I hope you enjoy it as much as we did, for those who didn’t I hope you like the look of the photos that I took and video clips.
